In 2025, the Formation Continue UNIL-EPFL began a longitudinal study investigating the long-term impacts of certifying continuing education programs on participants’ professional and personal growth.
Early results show that their learning experience has lasting, multidimensional effects even year’s after attending the course. Professionally, it enabled the integration of concrete skills and competences into daily practice, contributed to continuous improvement and facilitated networking opportunities and career development. Personally, it helped to strengthen self-confidence, reflective capacity and structured thinking.
Real skills in numbers
- With hindsight and having had the opportunity to put their acquired learning into practice, 96% of alumni say they are satisfied with the training they received and 89% would recommend the course to their peers.
- Over 86% of alumni apply their newly acquired skills confidently in their professional practice—not just technical know-how, but relational and methodological capabilities that transform daily work.
- 98% report that continuing education enriched and developed their critical thinking skills.
- During their training, 71% built durable professional networks opening fruitful exchanges and collaboration opportunities.
